Second Chance Act

The President signed the Second Chance Act this past week. I knew when I heard that I would be missing my lunches for at least a week. I knew they would come.

I found myself a spot on the compound where I could be seen from afar. I sat with my bottle of water, tap water I refilled the bottle with.

Slowly they came. The old and aging. There are thousands of old that are caged in America and they want hope. They came with canes and wheelchairs, some with assistance, others just real slow. They all wanted to hear what relief this “Second Chance Act” had for the elderly. While not having a complete bill, I explained it the best I could to the growing group. I ended the gathering with a “rain-check” of sorts-I told them that after John Flahive (www.webelievegroup.com) comes for his weekly visit that I would have more “real” information. All went away happy.

You see, a prisoner needs that little ray of hope. It keeps them going; at least the ones that are saved, changed, ready to re-enter the free-world. The question is what to do with the rest. I believe I can help with that too, once free. As I have stated numerous times, man has always caged man, tis nothing new. But, what I want from America and it’s cage system is a smart philosophy, that’s all, nothing more.
